Stewart Brewing RS200 Scottish Travellers at East Lothian Yacht Club

The Scottish RS200 travelling posse were treated to the usual glorious conditions at North Berwick over the weekend 4/5th June. Almost wall to wall sunshine and a pleasant force 3 - just typical for this favourite venue.

With twelve boats, including the very welcome visit by three from England, there was good racing through the weekend for all (well almost all).

Brendan Lynch & Ellen Clark shot off in the first race showing they had no intention of stopping their recent dominance of the class up here. During the weekend they even practised giving the fleet a small headstart, just to have the sport of overtaking us. The strategy only back-fired once, on Sunday, when Peter Collings & Emily Hill established such a lead that they led to the finish.

Fiona Rigg and Helen Wightman showed extreme consistency (including a string of three second places on Sunday) to take.... second. For those still reading - yes that does mean that they also beat Brendan and Ellen in their 'bad race'.

The fleet was a floating advert for what makes the class the biggest double-handed class at these events, with couples, parent/teenager, all-female combinations and a lot of other people sailing together just because they are friends!

The club, once again, produced good racing, a great welcome and stunning weather. The sponsor, Stewart Brewing, produced some pretty fine brews.
