Leg 3 of the ITCA GBR Rooster Southern Summer Traveller Series was held at Itchenor SC on Sunday May 8th. As is the norm for Southern Topper events Sunday's Open was proceeded by an optional training day on the Saturday and it was great to see the Todd family join us for some sea sailing practice.

With 41 entries for the Open including most of the RYA South Toppers RTG some close racing was expected! The Race Committee did a great job and managed to hold four races in tricky conditions with winds varying from 5 to 15 knots. It was particularly good to see a strong turnout of 17 sailors in the 4.2 fleet, some competing in their first Topper open.

Despite some tough competition from the Southern sailors Leo Yates from the London & SE region was victorious in the 5.3 fleet, finishing the day on a high with wins in Races 3 & 4. The 4.2 fleet was won by Ethan Rhodes.

Well done to all the sailors and a massive thanks to our hosts at Itchenor Sailing Club. With the sun out it's difficult to imagine a more pleasant venue for us long suffering parents to spend the day!

Overall Results: (top three)
