Noble Marine Insurance has confirmed that they will continue their longstanding sponsorship of the GBR Musto Skiff class for 2021. Funds from Noble Marine Insurance, who specialise in providing boat insurance for a wide range of vessels and marine craft, will go towards a dedicated UK-based training program for this year's class members.

Several events and activities over 2020 were cancelled due to the pandemic, which resulted in planned Musto Skiff training moving online. Using the video conferencing platform, Zoom, the class organised interview-led training sessions with sailing coach, Russ Clark, and some of the top GBR sailors in the class.

The live online training sessions, which were hosted by sailing journalist, Andy Rice, were positively received at a time when few sailors were able to train and practice together. The class is now exploring the potential for both online and on the water training activities as part of the renewed sponsorship deal with Noble Marine.

GBR MUSTO Skiff Class Association representative, Ben Schooling, said: "Noble Marine has supported the Musto Skiff class for many years now, so we are pleased to see the partnership continue for 2021. We're hoping to be able to do our training sessions on the water, but we are also keen to continue with the online training activities. If lockdowns continue, it's a good way to support the class and keep people focused on sailing their Musto. Noble Marine are really supportive of our ideas to extend training opportunities for the class, and the sponsorship will help us to do this - be it on the water on online - which is great!"

Commenting on the continued sponsorship for 2021, Joanne Haynes of Noble Marine Insurance, said: "Here at Noble Marine, we were thrilled with how fast Musto Skiff adapted to training the dinghy class online. We appreciate how difficult the pandemic was on everyone and how much we all longed to get back out onto the water. We are in nothing but awe of how this community came together, that even the lack of opportunity to get out on the water didn't stop them. To us, this is what sailing is about, adapting to challenges, no matter what they may be, and providing the future generation of dinghy sailors, young and old, with vital training for good competitive racing in classes like the Musto Skiff."

With cautious optimism, the Musto Skiff class recently published their 2021 event schedule, which includes a planned UK National Championship event on 29th July - 1st August at Sunderland Yacht Club. Noble Marine Insurance have also been confirmed as the Title Sponsor for this year's Nationals event.
