The 2000 Class is pleased to announce a full programme of events for 2021, after a shortened 2020 season. The 2000 Class will benefit from two series, as well as three coaching events.
The Northern Series has been moved slightly further south to align with areas where 2000s are regularly sailed, and the 5 event series has been evenly spaced out through the season.
The Millennium Series consists of six events with a mix of one and two day events. Events are based at clubs that have 2000s. The Series is being sponsored by West Country Boat Repairs who have generously provided some great prizes that will be shared through the fleet.
Coaching events are being increased with a dedicated training weekend, as well as two open meetings that will be 'coached events', which means top 2000 sailors will be on hand to offer advice during the race meeting.
Due to the postponement of the 2020 training events the support of Noble Marine is being transferred to the 2021 coaching events.
The National Championship is being held at Royal Torbay Yacht Club, which is a beautiful sailing and holiday venue.

- 12th-13th June 2021 - Millennium Series 3 at Keyhaven Yacht Club
Sailing in the Solent directly opposite the Needles, but located on the mainland. Keen home fleet, so a warm welcome assured. Fantastic event in 2020, so don't miss this one in 2021, where the club is ideally located for summer sea breezes.
- 19th-20th June 2021 - 2 day coached open at Snettisham Beach Sailing Club
An open meeting where you can learn. Coaches will be on hand to give advice during racing.
- 10th-11th July 2021 - Millennium Series 4 at Thorney Island Sailing Club
Sailing in the beautiful Chichester harbour at a club with a large home fleet. This is traditionally the largest turnout of the year. Tides will play a part, but the wind is usually excellent with good sea breezes. Easy sheltered launching from a friendly club.
- 8th-13th August 2021 - National Championship at Royal Torbay Yacht Club
Fantastic holiday venue in the English Riviera, with a professional club, and excellent harbour launching into the open waters of Torbay.
- 4th-5th September 2021 - Millennium Series 5 at Stone Sailing Club
Stone Sailing Club is a small and friendly place to sail, situated on the south bank of the River Blackwater in Essex close to Maldon and Burnham-on-Crouch. The river is some 2km wide at high tide and racing can be held at any state of the tide. There is space for camping on site or there are a number of local campsites within a short walk or car journey. The 2019 event became legendary with fantastic entertainment put on by the club.
- 25th September 2021 - Millennium Series 6 at Chichester Yacht Club
This club has fantastic facilities and racing is immediately off the club lawn, so is great for spectators. Start times vary depending on tides so keep an eye open for the NoR. Racing is on sheltered flat water, although the tides make for interesting race strategy. Excellent food options at the club and local marina.
- 26th September 2021 - 1 day coached open at Itchenor Sailing Club
An open meeting where you can learn. Coaches will be on hand to give advice during racing.
- TBA - Inland Championship in October
2021 Northern series
- 24th-25th April 2021 - 2 day sprint event at Rutland Sailing Club
Large professionally run club in the Midlands with a huge amount of water space available. This event is part of the RS sprints, and will therefore be combined with other RS classes. Book accommodation early and prepare for a big event.
- 8th May 2021 - 1 day class specific open at Staunton Harold Sailing Club
Inland, Midlands based club with a keen fleet to welcome the travellers.
- 19th-20th June 2021 - 2 day event at Bala Sailing Club
Part of the Great British Sailing Challenge Series. Saturday - Mass handicap start Long Distance Race the full 4 miles length of the lake. Usually windward leeward so suit Asymmetrics. Sunday - 3 handicap races back to back, split into fleets depending on numbers. Turnout was around 60 boats in 2019, so a nice busy event.
- 3rd-4th July 2021 - Lord Birkett at Ullswater Yacht Club
The event is known as the 'Lord Birkett Memorial Trophy' and attracts sailors from across the country for handicap racing over a long course.
- 18th-19th September 2021 - 2 day event with a class start (event shared with V3000) at Carsington Sailing Club
Friendly club in Derbyshire with a 2000 fleet.
Information to note:
- Where events are part of another event, the Notice of Race, entries, etc will be managed by the event (not the 2000 Class Association / host club).
- Where events are part of a handicap event, the 2000 Class results will be extracted to form class results (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc).
- When 3 or 4 events are completed, the worst event score will be excluded; when 5 events are completed, the two worst event scores will be excluded.
- Entry rules are the same as the 2000 Class 'Event and Series Rules'.
