The British Virgin Islands (BVI) are reopening for tourism on 1 December 2020, and Sunsail, the global yacht charter company that offers sailing holidays to first time sailors and experienced adventurers, is welcoming back guests for charters departing from its base in Tortola, the yacht charter capital of the Caribbean.

Whether it's a bareboat or skippered charter, Sunsail's team of dedicated holiday planners are looking forward to helping customers find their perfect BVI sailing holiday. With steady trade winds, calm waters and more than 60 uncrowded, uncommercialised and unspoilt islands to discover, it's easy to see why the BVI is known as one of the best sailing destinations in the world.

Book your dream BVI adventure

Prices for a one-week bareboat departing from Tortola in the BVI, start from £2,803 for a Sunsail 41 premier monohull (sleeps up to eight people), cost includes fully equipped cruising yacht, Wi-Fi and Yacht Damage Waiver, taxes and fuel, departing on 11 December 2020.

For easy and hassle-free booking, guests can arrange flights and transfers through Sunsail's designated aviation team and benefit from financial protection, reward points and negotiated rates across its partner airlines, subject to availability. Return flights can be booked through Sunsail with British Airways and Intercaribbean from London Gatwick to Tortola from £790 per person departing 4 December 2020 or from £1,038 per person departing 11 December 2020.

Book and travel with confidence

To give clients peace of mind in uncertain times, Sunsail has updated its booking terms and conditions to offer flexible rebooking terms. The company has also introduced a comprehensive set of health and safety measures and protocols, which endeavour to make guests so they can travel with confidence and make the most of their time on the water.

Kate Staniforth, UK Senior Marketing Manager for Sunsail, says, "We are thrilled to welcome guests back for charters in the British Virgin Islands, and in the age of social-distancing, a yacht charter holiday is the perfect way to experience the thrill of sailing along the sun-soaked Caribbean shores. We want to make sure our customers experience their next Sunsail adventure in a safe environment, and have made sure that we are able to adhere to all social distancing guidelines and have implemented stringent new health and safety procedures across all of our bases to protect our guests and staff. We hope by adapting our business to offer flexible booking options, our guests will feel comfortable and confident setting sail with us. We hope they will enjoy chartering our fantastic range of world-class yachts, with sailing experiences that are fun, exciting and safe."

Travellers wishing to travel to the British Virgin Islands when the territory reopens to tourism in December are required to apply through the government's newly-implemented online portal, BVI Gateway, to gain authorisation.
