THE CAPITAL INVESTMENT GROUP ARGOS SODITIC SPONSORS A CHALLENGER IN THE VENDEE GLOBE

Argos Soditic is the first Capital Investment Group to sponsor a boat in the Vendée Globe. The company will be lending its financial support to Richard Tolkien's boat, which will set off on Sunday 5 th November from Les Sables d'Olonne with 23 other competitors on a solo, non-stop, around the world voyage, considered to be the Everest of yacht racing events in the sailing world.

For Richard Tolkien, the British skipper of Open 60ft monohull "This Time-Argos Soditic " this is not his first oceanic race. He won his class in the Transat Quebec - St. Malo in 1984, came fifth in the Europe 1 Single-handed Transatlantic race in 1992 (monohull class), and won the Round Britain race in 1998 on a 40ft trimaran 'FPC Greenaway'

Argos Soditic is delighted to be able to give their support to this challenger, who reflects the spirit of enterprise in which the group operates, to combine risk with success.

Richard Tolkien commented “I am extremely happy to have found a sponsor, especially at such late notice.” His Open 60 is the ancient ‘Fujicolour III’, which has since been modified for this race.

ARGOS SODITIC specialises in supporting management buyouts throughout Europe. In 10 years, they have made more than 25 investments, particularly in medium sized companies, normally taking majority participations.

Sole venture capital investor for the investment group Euroknights, ARGOS SODITIC has benefitted from a wide range of international investors.

The group has today investments in companies such as Du Pareil Au Même, Eider, la Serap and Starline Communications in France, Tipico, De Vecchi and Fillattice in Italy, and Apolo-Ceramic in Portugal.
