Following the cancellation of the Aspire Merlin Rocket National Championships and the Craftinsure Silver Tiller, the Merlin Rocket Owners Association Committee today announces the cancellation of the only remaining Class organised event of 2020, the Inland Championships at Bala Sailing Club on 26th and 27th September.

“In these uncertain times, and with different guidelines in England and Wales, it does not seem fair or responsible of us try and find a workable solution with Bala Sailing Club,” comments Chris Martin, organiser. “The good news is that we will return in 2021, so save the date of 25 and 26th September.”

The class last went to Bala in 2005 when Mike and Jane Calvert took home the title of Inland Champions. They will now have to wait one more year to see if they can win that title once again.

The committee is looking at alternative options and we ask Merlin Rocket sailors to keep an eye on www.merlinrocket.co.uk for the latest updates on the events.

Next up Lymington Town Sailing Club is hosting a Merlin Rocket Open on 29 and 30th August with limited entry. Those wishing to enter can do so online via the event website www.ltsc.co.uk/merlin-open-2020.
