Welwyn Garden City Sailing Club races every Saturday morning throughout the year on Stanborough Lake. It may be a puddle by some standards - just 15.3 acres - but we have a lot of fun and last Saturday was no exception. Storm Jorge was forecast to come through and by the end of the morning things started to get very lively.

The photos below show Comet sailor Annette Walter on the receiving end of a massive gust which sent her powering past the lead boat - Alan Campbell in his Supernova. Needless to say he recovered and planed off into the distance, winning both Burgee races that morning and keeping her safely in second place.

The other three sailors brave enough to take to the water were Dave Lambert, Supernova (3rd), and juniors Alex Shelley, Q'ba PRO (5th), and Pranav Chawla, RS Feva (DNF).
