The M4 Prototype is a new and exciting sailing dinghy which has been designed and developed by Simon Maguire. This new form of sailing, hydro foil sailing termed ‘foiling’, is creating lots of interest in the sailing world.

After displaying some photos of the original boat at last years show the project received lots of great interest and some first class sponsorship. So this year the latest boat will be at the show. Main reasons for the project; Due to the recent interest in hydro foiling sailing dinghies, I have been inspired to design an easy to sail dinghy foiler. With an emphasis on simplicity, reliability and fun.

The main brief was ‘That the design could be given to an average club sailor for an afternoon's foiling so more people can enjoy the thrills and spills of this new form of dinghy sailing’. Like experiencing the unnatural silences as you foil effortlessly, accelerating to high speeds, and you don’t even have to hike out!

After a summer of testing and fun sailing, the boat will be displaying its new Selden rotating carbon rig, improved Harken deck layout and foils.
