Two 2018 Bol d'Or Mirabaud (BOM) press conferences were held today: one this morning at the ICRC in Geneva and the second this afternoon at Mirabaud in Zurich.

Officially launching the 80th edition of the world's most important regatta taking place on a lake, to be held June 8-10 at the Société Nautique de Genève, these conferences presented journalists with the specificities planned for this anniversary edition.

The BOM is proud to be associated with the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival. As the regatta's artistic partner, the festival will include several concerts aboard the Neptune throughout the weekend. This antique lake vessel will be tied up in front the SNG terrace and will be the stage for all of the ceremonies and concerts.

To celebrate its 80th anniversary, the BOM is publishing a special comic book covering the regatta's history. Scriptwriter, Patrick Mallet, has selected twelve cartoonists to illustrate the various historical periods of the BOM. The comic book will be put on sale at the SNG as well as in bookstores the weekend of the BOM.

A photo exhibit will also be available to the public, starting May 31, along the Geneva quays near the Mont-Blanc rotunda on the right bank and near the English Garden on the left bank. Eighteen posters will trace the BOM's history, illustrated by period images and extracts from the comic book.

Other than the usual faithful BOM participants, several famous sailors will participate in the regatta. Among them our guest of honour, Loïck Peyron. More information about his participation will be communicated at the press conference on Thursday, June 7.

Construction of the new Société Nautique de Genève port will require several changes, notably concerning the finish line, and the capacity available in the port. For more information, click here.

The starting gun will go off Saturday, June 9 at 10:00. Spectators can watch the start from the Société Nautique de Genève, open to the public Saturday and Sunday, as well as from other locations we invite you to discover here. Again, as partner, the CGN will offer preferential prices to follow the regatta.

Online registration has been open since March 21.
