Another beautiful day in Exmouth! The sun shone and the gentle gradient wind battled valiantly with the gentle sea breeze and stalemate ensued. Despite sitting and watching the glassy waters of Lyme Bay for 2 hours, the Race Officer, Tim Graham, was unable to call in any favours from the weather gods and reluctantly abandoned racing at 11:00.

This meant that the overnight results Sailwave results for the Comet Trio Nationals 2016 at Exe Sailing Club 2016 stood and Andrew and Caroline McAusland from Exe SC were crowned Comet Trio National Champions for the 6th time!

In second place were the father and son pairing of Chris and Sam Mayne from Hawley Lake SC. Having owned their Trio for 20 years and been to 19 National Championships this was the first time they had stood on the podium, a result that was richly deserved after the beautiful way they had sailed the boat, particularly on the Friday.

Completing the podium positions were Bob and Colette Horlock also of Exe SC.
