4 August 2016
On the 4th August Frensham Sailability received the Queen's Award for voluntary service, QAVS. The award came with a certificate signed by Her Majesty herself.
This was a really happy occasion. Guest included the High Sheriff of Surrey and the award was presented by the Lord Lieutenant Michael More-Molyneux. He is a good friend of Frensham and a relaxed, laid-back guy.
Frensham Sailability have a range of boat designs and activities for all types of disability. There are Wayfarer and Stratus boats for trips around the lake, Hansa and Liberty single and double handers and a very competitive 2.4 metre fleet who have won honours abroad.
Frensham Sailability's travelling team in the Hansa class have won the Ben Ainslie Trophy five times and recently their 2.4mR team made a creditable contribution to the European Championships.
