Spinlock staff enjoy a Royal visit and party

After being awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise in recognition of its export sales, Cowes based company Spinlock are continuing to enjoy the benefits of this prestigious award, with a recent visit to Buckingham Palace for directors Chris Hill and Caroline Senior and a Royal visit today during Cowes Week by the Duke of Edinburgh.

Today, on Wednesday 10th August Spinlock received a visit from HRH Prince Philip at their production facility in Cowes. His Royal Highness met with Spinlock staff that assembles the products ready for export around the world, as well as formally awarding Spinlock with the Queen's Award for Enterprise. Also in attendance was HM Lord-Lieutenant, Major General Martin White CB CBE JP, Mrs Gillian Phenix, Deputy Clerk to the Lieutenancy, Mr John Owen CMG MBE DL and Mr Adrian Medley DL.

HRH Prince Philip was given a tour of the top class facility to see the how the company's high level of attention in everything it does inspires confidence in its customers and stakeholders. The tour followed the flow of materials from goods-in to despatch, where over 350,000 products leave annually to over 25 countries, an overview of the complete Spinlock range exhibition stand and a chance to meet all the staff including the designers and the sales and marketing team from the Birmingham Road site.

Spinlock staff and their family and friends were able to join in the celebrations and see the award being presented, with many of the staff members' children enjoying waving flags to welcome HRH Prince Philip. A party was held afterwards to thank the whole team and continue the celebrations.

Spinlock designs and manufactures rope holding equipment for the control of sails and other applications on-board boats from dinghies to super yachts, as well as an award winning range of personal safety products for leisure and commercial water users.
