Island Sailing Club Evening Race Series - Day 14

by Rod Nicholls 20 Jul 2016 17:17 BST 19 July 2016

Week 14 saw the fleet with similar conditions to four weeks previous with a flood tide and WSW wind of 16-18 knots.

These conditions led to some lively sailing with good beats and runs for all the Classes. In Class 1 JElvis crossed the line well in the lead and held her time on handicap.

Not too far behind came Tilt and once again (living up to her name) took a very big broach from a squall coming down from the river. She was quite close to the new breakwater and did very well to get the boat under control. She managed to cross the line with spinnaker sheets and guy flying horizontal from the top of her mast.

In Class 2 Haggis took her third win on handicap in a row after crossing the line in first place. Barry Byham in the Sonar fleet continues to dominate with another first place.
