The UK sailing season is in full swing and reports are flowing in thick and fast. There have been articles that have made me chuckle and ones that have made me think. You've been lapping them up in your thousands!
While April's winner was actually published in May, it was most definitely sent in by the author in April so it most definitely counts as an April article. The 'L' Word by Emma Pearson is a great account by a sailor on why they chose to sail a Europe instead of a Laser. High readership and likes shows that it has clearly resonated with a lot of sailors.
May had a hands-down, clear-cut winner. Far and away the most nominated report was on the Blackwater Sailing Club Open Day. On a scorching Saturday 7th May there was much excitement at the club as two brand-new RS Feva dinghies were unwrapped for use by the club cadets and crowds poured in to see what the club had to offer members.
As well as authors winning prizes, all those who nominate winning reports are also in with a chance of winning a Henri Lloyd Dri-Pac. Our lucky winners in this draw are Tim Whitehead who described The L Word as 'Witty, informative and superbly written' and Helen Richardson who described the Blackwater Open Day report as a 'well written account giving a real flavour of the day'.
Keep nominating when you see a great report. We love recognising all our writers contributions and maybe you can win a prize too!
You can nominate any report from the last month to be in with a chance of winning a Henri Lloyd Dri-Pac and also help recognise the great work that our writers do in publicising sailing events up and down the UK and around the world.
