Lymington Town Sailing Club is hosting the Craftinsure Merlin Rocket Silver Tiller on 14 / 15 May and is delighted to announce Craftinsure, title sponsor of the coveted Silver Tiller circuit, is providing addition prizes to mark a very special occasion.

In 2016, both the Merlin Rocket Class and Lymington Town Sailing Club are celebrating turning 70 and Craftinsure have kindly donated additional prizes to be awarded across the fleet. There will be spot prizes which are likely to be based around the number 70, will you weigh in at 70kg? Does your sail number include the number 70? Are you 70, or do you have a combined age of 70? The list goes on!

There will be 5 races over the weekend, starting with the briefing at 1130 on Saturday 14th May. On Saturday evening there will be a meal at the club for all visiting sailors and their families.

"We are looking forward to welcoming Merlin Rocket sailors once again to the club, and it is great that they too are celebrating a significant birthday. We hope to celebrate with some classic western Solent conditions followed by tea and doughnuts." Commented Alastair Beeton, sailing secretary at Lymington Town Sailing Club.

Lymington Town Sailing Club has a growing fleet of Merlin Rockets of all ages, and in addition to the overall prizes and those to mark the 70th birthday celebrations, an additional prize will be awarded to the first Classic Boat.

Online entry is now open for the weekend, and sailors can sign up at ltsc.co.uk/ltsc-online/index.php/online-entry?ltsc_entries___RaceSeriesId_raw=14
