RS Feva Northern open meeting at Ullswater Yacht Club

by David Rastrick 7 Apr 2016 13:37 BST 25-28 March 2016

The fourth and final RS Feva Northern open winter training session took place at Ullswater Yacht club on 25 & 26 March with a total 32 RS Feva sailors attending for a fantastic first day training on Good Friday in one of the most spectacular sailing settings in the lake district.

Despite the best attempts of Storm Katie to dampen spirits on the Saturday and Sunday, 22 sailors stayed the course and were rewarded with perfect sailing conditions on Monday 28th for the first of the 4 Northern RS Feva open race series kindly sponsored by Neil Pryde.

Overall race honours when to Henry and Jamie Rastrick following some very close racing before lunch and yet again the local club sailors could not get over how fast some of the Fevas were seen going down wind.

The next event is at Yorkshire Dales Sailing club on the Saturday 11 June and it is hoped as many Feva sailors as possible will come along to have a chance of winning some of the great Neil Pryde goodies on offer. Details of all the other Northern events can be found on the RS Feva website.

Thanks to everyone at Ullswater Yacht club for making the RS Feva class feel so welcome and for putting on a great event despite all the trials and tribulations they have been through this winter with the floods. Thanks also to Dave Hivey who has yet again provided first class coaching this winter.

Now the winter training is over we hope everyone has a fantastic sailing season.
