As well as racing for the clubs traditional trophies this season Aldeburgh Yacht Club has a busy schedule of Open Meetings and Regattas in this idyllic part of Suffolk.

Club racing commences on March the 26th and goes through till December the 26th with the Championship of the Alde being held on the 29th October. Wednesday evening racing starts on the 27th April and goes through till the 10th of September. Our first Regatta of the season is over the May Bank Holiday on the 28th and 29th. The main summer regatta runs from Sunday 14th August to Friday 19th, with sea racing for dinghies on Monday the 15th (which is also Aldeburgh Carnival Day). Preceding Main Regatta is Junior Regatta which runs from the 8th to the 12th of August, all regatta's are open event's and a full list of class and handicap racing is available on the club's website, www.aldeburghyc.org.uk.

There are also a number of class open meetings this year starting on May 21st and 22nd with a Merlin Rocket Silver Tiller weekend. On June the 4th and 5th we welcome the K6's and Vipers which should produce some spectacular viewing on the river. The start of July sees a Wayfarer Open on the 2nd and 3rd racing for the L'Escargot Trophy. On Sunday the 17th it's the turn of the Optimist's and Saturday the 23rd we are holding an RS200 and Laser Open. We finish the open meeting season with our inaugural Classic Weekend for dinghies and day boats on the 3rd and 4th of September.

We look forward to meeting friends old and new at these events and guarantee a warm Aldeburgh welcome.
