A rather special RS300 will be on show on the RS Sailors stand in the main hall at the Dinghy Show this coming weekend. If you're around on Sunday you'll be able to ask the owner, Oli Harris, exactly why he chose that colour scheme for his new boat from the Boatyard at Beer. He, alongside other RS300 owners, will be on hand over the weekend to answer questions about the boat, the 2016 circuit and anything else 300-related.
Over 40 helms contested the Magic Marine Grand Prix circuit in 2015 and 30 boats took part in the Volvo Noble Marine National Championship. In 2016 the circuit takes in venues from the south coast (Lymington) to Scotland (Prestwick), from the east (Hykeham) to the west (Bristol Corinthian), a northern double-header (Sheffield Viking & Glossop) as well as a sprinkling of others including the season kick-off at Stewartby, a new venue for the class. Encompassing both one-day and two-day events, as well as traditional racing the circuit also includes innovative formats such as sprint and slalom events.
The highlight of the season will undoubtedly be the National Championship at Exe SC in early September. 25 helms have already indicated they'll be going with official entries not yet open. Accommodation is booking up fast.
