2016 JJ Giltinan 18ft Skiff Championship - Preview

The Australian 18 Footers League is proud to announce the sponsorship of the 2016 JJ Giltinan 18ft Skiff Championship by appliancesonline.com.au, an Australian online retailer of white goods, which is based in Sydney.

The championship, which has been the world's major 18 Footer championship since it was first sailed on Sydney Harbour in 1938, will begin with Race 1 on Saturday, 13 February.

Race Dates:

  • Race 1 - 13 February
  • Race 2 - 14 February
  • Race 3 - 16 February
  • Race 4 - 17 February
  • Race 5 - 18 February
  • Race 6 - 20 February
  • Race 7 - 21 February
Races will start at 3pm, with the exception of Races 1 and 6, which will start at 4pm.

The Australian 18 Footers League will have a spectator ferry, leaving Double Bay Wharf alongside the clubhouse, for each race. With the crowds expected for Races 2 and 7 (Sundays), the club has organised two spectator ferries to accommodate the numbers.

Live streaming of all the races will allow you to watch all the action from anywhere in the world, and along with Pick-the-Podium everyone can join the fun.
