Lack of wind stops racing (from , LTSC)
A number of boats ventured out to the Western Solent last Sunday in the hope of competing in Race 3 of the Lymington Town Sailing Club Solent Circuit Series. The race officer postponed the start as the fleets waited for a breese to fill in. However, after an hour it became clear that what little wind that existed was insufficient to make racing possible, so the decision was made to abandon racing for the day.
The series continues on Sunday 1st November when Race 4 will be contested. Entries are still being taken and details are available on www.ltsc.co.uk or from the sailing secretary at .
Report from Alex Barnes
The third race in the Lymington Town Sailing Club Solent Circuit was abandoned this morning due to low winds.
Race Officer Nick Hopwood postponed the race for over an hour before eventually being forced to send the crews back in with just a mere 3 knots blowing around the Solent.
However, the time spent waiting for the potential race to begin gave South Coast Journalism an opportunity to travel round the course and speak to several competitors about the competition.
Short interviews were done with crew members from Boomerang & Strega as well as Google Eye skipper Pat Stables and Madelaine's Ed Donald.
