Great Britain's Blind Sailing Team are set to represent their country at the IFDS 2015 Blind International and World Fleet Racing Championships from the 10-13 September in Chicago.

The event is being hosted by Chicago Yacht Club with team from around the world.

GBR has three new sailors this Worlds seeing Dave Ross take up the role as tactician in the B2 team. Commodore of Blind Sailing Lucy will be at the helm with Dave and said, "It's great to have new sighted support. Dave has been involved for about 18 months through his club Cowes Carinthum Yacht Club on the Isle of Wight, the club and Dave do so much to support the charity, the words 'Thank You' are not quite enough. This will be our first event together and I know we are going to enjoy it."

The B3 team also see two new VI's take their first step into racing, Chris Albert who will be crewing and Laura Cammidge.

Chris has supported the team through great fund raising efforts. Chris became visually impaired through diabetes but has took to sailing having natural feel for the wind.

The team would like to say a big thank you to all those that have helped them get to Chicago, this includes the clubs and coaches that supported the lead up to the event.

A few thank you's; Dubarry for supporting us with shoes - this makes a great difference, a grip you can trust, Musto for support with kit along with Zhik and Spinlock for supplying the team with great safety vests. There are loads more, our thanks goes out to all.
