Glandore Inn Rosebowl Regatta

Last Sunday we had the prize giving for the Glandore Inn Rosebowl Regatta of 2015. The Club is delighted that the new owners of the Glandore Inn continue to sponsor this great weekend of sailing in the outside Glandore Harbour.
There are now two fleets that participate for the Rosebowl Regatta that is set on laid courses outside Glandore Harbour. This year we have the biggest club Dragon fleet on the water with up to 8 boats racing twice weekly since June and for the Rosebowl we had Adrian Bendon a former Club member now racing in Kinsale joining to bring the fleet to nine Dragons.
The Squib class this year is a little down on last year but nevertheless they also had a good regatta with a new first time winner. As always we need to specially mention the volunteers on the Mark boats, the Committee boats and the Race committee who put in a great deal of preparation to keep the show on the road, Thanks especially to Principal Race Officer Donal Hayes of Kinsale Yacht Club.
Conditions on Saturday were very light and after a delay only two of the three races scheduled were completed, Sunday morning started light and things did not look good for getting a series completed, however the wind improved to allow two races be completed and enough to make a series.
Final Prize giving took place on Sunday afternoon at the Glandore Inn.
