Island Sailing Club Evening Series - Race 13

by Tony Taylor, Principal Race Officer 15 Jul 2015 12:05 BST 14 July 2015

Race 13 of the Island Sailing Club Evening Race series saw somewhat gloomy conditions set in after the start with drizzle and mist giving poor visibility. However the wind strength held up throughout the racing enabling most boats to finish before 8pm and make for the shelter of the clubhouse.

Glyn Locke in Fer de Lance was first in Class 1 with Jet, James and John Owen a close second. In Class 2 Andrew and Rebecca Buchannan achieved their first win of the series in Haggis 2. In the Sonars Andy Cassell in Jenny took first place with Craig Wood and Steve Palmer in Spare Part a close second in their first race in the series. There was good turnout in the XOD Class with James Meaning in Gleam taking first place with Gillian Clark in Heyday a close second.
