GAC Pindar's record breaking world champions, Ian Williams and Seve Jarvin, will lead the Team GAC Pindar challenge as co-skippers for the second round of the Extreme Sailing Series in Oman.
Williams joins Team GAC Pindar's Extreme Sailing Series crew after winning an unprecedented fifth World Match Racing Tour title in Malaysia last month.
Jarvin won a record seventh 18ft Skiff World Championship on Sydney harbour, surpassing the record formerly held by his mentor, and current coach, Iain Murray.
Williams is no stranger to the Extreme Sailing Series; he skippered Team GAC Pindar in 2011, and appeared in key rounds over the subsequent two seasons, before taking on a coaching role within the team last year.
Williams comments: "With light winds and good conditions forecast, we're excited about the challenge ahead in Oman. It's not an enclosed circuit compared to other regattas, so as long as we don't make mistakes and get off to a good start, we can hopefully stay out ahead of the fleet."
In the first Act in Singapore, Jarvin helped an all-Australian crew secure sixth place overall, with four race victories, two runners up and five third place finishes.
GAC Pindar Principle Andrew Pindar comments: "The strength in depth within Team GAC Pindar is tremendous, and we're looking forward to seeing Ian and Seve working together. It's also a fascinating experiment; we're curious to see how quickly Ian and the rest of the team can gel together to produce some great results."
Jarvin and Williams are supported by the Australian trio of James Wierzbowski (Mainsail Trimmer), Marcus Ashley Jones (Headsail Trimmer) and Tyson Lamond on Bowman duties.
