12 October 2014
The first races of the King George, P&B sponsored Winter Series took place on 12th October. Despite the forecast and light wind early on, the event still saw a good turnout.
A clean start for race one, then witnessed the fleet split on the first leg. Tony Cooper on the right hand side making good use of the favourable winds first to the windward mark. The wind dropped in the second lap, and there was very little position change, with Tony Cooper taking first place.
Gradually the wind started to build a little for race two, which allowed a closer fought contest. Martin Jarvis attacking well on the downwind leg, but eventually Vincent Horey stretched a lead over the fleet thanks to his normal share of luck and skill. Vince taking first place in race 2.
The next event is 26th October.
