The Lymington XOD 2014 Series draw to a close © Lymington XOD fleet
After a great season so far, the XODs are now moving into their Autumn Series (do these boats and crews ever get a rest!), but before doing so we should look back at the very successful Saturday and Wednesday series and celebrate the successes...
The Saturday series was won by Paul Woodman and Oliver James in X32 Ibex with a very consistent set of results over the 19 races, posting eleven results in the top five with four first places. Close behind were two familiar names. Stuart Jardine sailing X119 Lone Star was in second with the most consistent set of results in the fleet, followed by brother Ado Jardine sailing X140 Lucrezia in third, just five points behind.
In the Wednesday series, after twenty-one races just two points separated first and second place with the series result decided in the last five minutes of the the final race of the series! Stuart Jardine and Lone Star claimed first place in the series, following a first in the final race, followed by Rory Paton in X48 XL second in the series and Robin Balme in X117 X-Ray third. Incredibly, Lone Star only posted one result outside of the top five in the whole twenty-one race series, including discards!
Congratulations to Ibex and Lone Star!
