Cowes Week Is Here!

Cowes Week Is Here!
As Classic Cowes Week is set to begin next week from the 21st July and with Cowes Week itself starting on the 2nd of August final preparations should be well under way! As a stockist of all the leading sailing brands; Musto, Gill, Henri Lloyd and Dubarry to name a few P&B have a huge range of offshore sailing clothing available online and in both our P&B shops. In amongst this range P&B can highlight some of this years best sellers which includes the Musto Corsica Jacket, Dubarry Ultima Boot, Gill i2 Base Layers, Gul Sunglasses, Gill Performance Sailing Shorts and Musto Fast Dri Sailing Cap. Whilst this covers all your clothing needs for a week of offshore sailing P&B also provide vast amounts of rope, hardware and boat maintenance products so why not take advantage of the P&B service and be race prepared for the biggest week in the offshore calendar.

Although more commonly found racing on the dinghy circuit P&B have been branching out by racing and producing sails for many keel and day boats. Following some recent success with the XOD and after his emphatic win in last weeks B14 Nationals P&B Souths Ben McGrane is looking for some repeat success in this years Classic Cowes Week sailing XOD 22 (Shri). Keep an eye out for Ben and the P&B logo and find just what P&B can do for you.

On Deck Essentials!

On Deck Essentials!
So when your boat is ready and your itching to get out on the water there are some absolute 'on deck essentials' to have before you leave the shore. Regardless if your a helm or part of the crew, single hander or yacht racer there are always  little 'must haves' which should be with you on deck making all the difference race day. Good grip is essential at all times and the Gill Deckhand Glove is one particular favorite of ours. Staying physically and mentally sharp is also an important aspect of racing so the 'all natural' Torq Gels are perfect for staying energised. Running repairs are a common feature of championship racing so spare blocks and/or snap hook is essential whilst electrical tape, splicing fids and a Gerber Suspension Tool should always be kept close to hand for those emergencies.

There are many more 'essentials' but it's all down to personal preference and your own preparations, however if you need any help or advice getting race ready then contact us on 01604 592808 and speak to one our sailing experts.

Kit Of The Week!

KIT of the WEEK!
Each week one of the P&B team will be looking into their kit bag and giving us an item that they simply wouldn't sail without!

For the third time since 'Kit of the Week' began the Zhik Microfleece Skiff gets the crown. Following a week of racing at Salcombe in the Merlin Rocket P&B's Tom Stewart was impressed with the durability and quality of the skiff suit. The main advantages to the Microfleece Skiff is that it offers great comfort, increased flexibility and keeps the body temperature regulated in the warmer conditions. This all adds up to an excellent spring/summer racing skiff which can stand up to the rigors of championship sailing.
