The Sprint 15 Association has decided to use a handicap of 897 for the Sprint 15 Sport in all Class Association events. This follows recent changes in the RYA PNs to both the Sprint 15 (from 918 to 933 in 2014) and the Sprint 15 Sport (from 883 to 860 in 2013) which has resulted in handicaps which do not reflect the relative boat speeds and place the Sprint 15 Sport at an huge disadvantage when sailed against Sprint 15s.

The Class Association has a large database of results which shows that an approximate 4% difference between the 2 handicaps produce fair results and the 897 reflects this. The Class Association recommends that sailing clubs with Sprint 15 Sport boats analyse their results carefully and consider making a similar adjustment.
