Raymarine announces inaugural Raymarine J/80 Championships

New 2014 Championships to reward season-long performance for J/80 class

Raymarine is proud to announce the company's sponsorship of the inaugural Raymarine J/80 Championships. A season-long series of UK-based events, the 2014 Raymarine J/80 Championship starts in April with the Warsash Spring Championships, moving on to the J/80 Nationals in Poole and the Royal Southern Yacht Club Regatta in May. June sees the 2014 Raymarine J/80 Championship take in the JP Morgan Round the Island Race, followed by the J-Cup in July, culminating in the last weekend of Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week in August. The J/80 is a highly successful One Design with over 1450 J/80s sailing world-wide.

Raymarine's UK Sales Manager, Harry Heasman, says, "The new Raymarine 2014 J/80 Championships provides a season-long test for the highly competitive J/80 class. We're pleased to support this great new series that rewards a complete season's performance for boat and crew; the exciting programme takes in a variety of locations and sailing conditions, just as the J/80 class likes it."

First place in the Raymarine J/80 Championships wins a complete Raymarine Wireless wind and depth system, a Raymarine Wireless Race Master and sailing jackets for all the crew. Second place will receive a Raymarine Wireless Race Master and third a Raymarine Wireless Micro Compass. Prize giving for the Raymarine J/80 Championship will take place at the Southampton Boat Show in September.
