WesMex International Small Boat Regatta at Vallarta Yacht Club - Day 1

by Icarus Sailing Media 29 Mar 2014 20:06 GMT 28-30 March 2014

Welcome to WesMex International Small Boat Regatta and Riviera Nayarit where the youth sailors will enjoy another fantastic event. WesMex is part of Circuito Mexicano de Vela which aims at developing the sport of sailing among the youth and also to promote the unique places that are involved as touristic destinations for everyone.

WesMex 2014 starts with great conditions as the wind reaches 14 knots. The gusty and tricky conditions along with the high level of competition contribute to having a fantastic day1 with a lot of action in all classes.

After the first races of the regatta in Optimist Advanced fleet Juan Pablo Rivas has the leadership after steady performance. In 420 class Camila & Casilda Flores had an excellent first day with 3 bullets. In Laser classes Jacobo Margules is in charge of Radial fleet, Yanic Gantry rules the standard fleet and Daniel O' Farrie has the advantage in 4.7 class.

In the same time, anguish culminates in MexOrc as the regatta coming to the end. No changes in the result after day 5, but it might be some ups and downs in the final day. Stay tuned!
