The Royal Lymington Yacht Club, Lymington Town Sailing Club and Keyhaven Yacht Club are joining forces on Sunday 21st September to be part of the world's biggest sailing event, Bart's
Bash.
Bart's Bash is on course to break a world record, and these three clubs would like to get as many people involved as possible. The combined clubs are inviting all dinghy sailors in the area, whether members of one of these sailing clubs or not, to join in with the West Solent Dinghies Bart's Bash. The sailing area will be mid-way between Lymington River and Keyhaven. The race is open to all classes and there will be one start. One person somewhere in the world will be crowned winner of the Bart's Bash, and that person could be you!
"We are working towards the Western Solent Dinghies Bart's Bash being the biggest turnout on the Solent we have had for a long time," explains Paul French coordinator for the event. "Bart's Bash is a global opportunity to remember Andrew Simpson and raise the profile of the sport of sailing, and we are very much looking forward to being part of such an event."
In addition to the main Western Solent Dinghies Bart's Bash, there will be a separate race
area for Merlin Rockets and RS800s that will be located East of Lymington River. Lymington
Town Sailing Club is hosting the Merlin Rocket Silver Tiller and RS800 Open Meeting on 20th
and 21st September, so why not make a weekend of it as this open meeting will include a
Bart's Bash race at 11am on Sunday 21st September.
