GBR Class Association - improving your skills in 2014

Nobody is going to say our class is an easy boat to sail; in fact, many sailors join the class for a challenge.

The class has always recognised this and in 2014 the GBR fleet has again arranged a number of professional coaching as well as sailor led 'focus' dates around the UK.

All the dates will appear on the calendar, but a summary of the dates and venues are as follows:

Nick Logan along with Richard and Kit Stenhouse have arranged a season long series of training days kindly hosted by Rutland Sailing Club.

Sailors wishing to take advantage of this great series of events must be rigged at the club for a 10:00am start on each day.

Different aspects of improving your sailing will be covered over the sessions but if you have anything specific you'd like the team to focus on, please let them know via the forum thread.

Class focus days: (join in with other class members and learn from each other)

  • boat handling
  • tacking gybing
  • starting
  • boat speed
  • any other areas people want to work on
Day sailing fees (at 2013 rates) are £15 per day or £27.50 for the weekend. Sailors can do club racing too if they wish but there would be no prizes from the club.
