RC Laser Winter Series at West Lancashire Yacht Club - Day 5 Preview

by Andrew Kissick 27 Feb 2014 06:11 GMT 2 March 2014

Sunday 2nd March is the 5th of 6 days racing in this very popular and successful Radio Controlled Series. With entries up to the mid 30's, a figure beyond even the best estimates, West Lancs have surpassed themselves for this penultimate round.

With the help of John Tushingham of Graphite Sails and Robert Wheeler of RCBoatsUK, the Club has received sponsorship in the form of an A suit of Dragon sails and an Official C sail for the Laser.

Every skipper who enters and races on Sunday will have his sail number entered into a free draw for the chance of winning a suit of sails for their class.

With an entry fee of only £3.00, the possibility of 10-15 races, excellent facilities, good water access, excellent competition, good lunch, all day tea and coffee included in the lunch price, a lot of 'very nice sailor boys and girls', the additional chance of a free suit of sails gives an indication of how much effort West Lancs is putting into the series.

Personally, I intend to go to the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show. But I am going on the Saturday so as to get back to race on Sunday!
