15-18 August 2013
The biggest Dart 18 fleet in Great Britain would like to invite you to what will undoubtedly be the biggest and best Dart National Championships to be held this year. We are expecting a huge turn out from the UK including all the top UK teams and various well known European and Worldwide Dart Teams.
Racing will take place from Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th August and will be held in the Solent the most famous sailing waters in the UK and the scene of earlier spectacular Dart Nationals and World Championships. Arrivals are welcome in advance to get rigged up and for practice and arrangements are in place to get boats from the safe launching areas at Netley out to the Solent during the main event if required.
In full family Dart tradition, the social events promise to be great fun, if not somewhat exhausting, and are included in the entry fee, as are the competitors evening meals, representing excellent value for money.
The infamous events already planned include a Commodore's reception and disco, a hog roast and band and a Bollywood themed night with compulsory fancy dress.
The South Coast location makes the venue easily accessible from Europe with the Club being around 30 minutes drive from the ferry ports at Portsmouth and Poole and about three hours from the tunnel and ferries at Dover with almost all driving on the motorway network.
In conclusion if you are not planning to come, why not?
South Coast Dart Nationals are normally the biggest and the best and this coupled with the unique on site and locational advantages Netley Sailing Club has and the strength of the 40 plus home Dart fleet means this is an event not to be missed.
Entry Fee £170.00 until 31st July, £200.00 after.
To enter please download the entry form available form www.dart18.com/2013-uk-nationals and either email or post your entry to Jenni, the UKIDA secretary (details available online).
Accommodation
Camping is available on site and the club and grounds provide a secure, almost car free environment adjacent to the launching and boat storage areas all set within the Royal Victoria Country Park. There are also local bed and breakfast establishments, hotels, guest houses and self catering accommodation. Additional meal tickets can be bought at the event.
Full details are available from the UKIDA website, www.dart18.com with further information available from the Netley Sailing Club website at www.netleysc.co.uk
Families & Friends
Supporters, spectators and families not taking part in the racing will be well catered for. Netley is located on the South Coast near to its famous beaches, the world famous New Forest National Park, the port of Southampton famous for its shopping and cultural facilities and maritime traditions and Portsmouth the home of the Royal Navy. This being the case it is an ideal holiday base for non sailors making this event even more attractive (or sellable) to all concerned.
Attractions slightly further away include Salisbury and Stonehenge, London (easily accessible by train), Bournemouth with its sandy beaches and the world heritage Dorset Jurassic Coast. Further tourist information is available from www.visitsoutheastengland.com/family-fun and the cost of the event and accommodation is less than what you would have to pay for just accommodation at many south coast venues.
