Following the huge success of the ilovesailing photo and video competition in 2012, ilovesailing is making a competition come back, but this time with a new twist!
Ilovesailing is asking sailing fans to post their favourite sailing photos on to the ilovesailing Facebook page www.facebook.com/ryailovesailing and each month we will pick two lucky entrants who will win a place on the first ever RYA ilovesailing calendar and a much coveted 2013, blue, ilovesailing rubber duck.
Running from Friday 01 March to Friday 23 August 2013, there will be a total of 12 photo winners (two winners per month), each of whom will represent a different month in the 2014 calendar.
As well as the photo entries we are also asking for text entries answering either of the two statements; 'I'm an RYA member because...' or 'I support the RYA because....', in no more than 30 words. Again there will be two winners each month, each clinching a spot in the calendar and claiming a 2013 blue ilovesailing duck.
"We had so many fantastic photos posted on the ilovesailing Facebook page during the 2012 competition we felt that introducing the ilovesailing calendar would be a great way to showcase everyone's amazing photos to a wider audience.
"We've also introduced the caption element of the competition so that people can share their thoughts and feeling about the RYA with their fellow sailors.
"So whether dinghy sailing is your passion or you enjoy yacht cruising, all you need to do is post your photo to the Facebook page; please make sure you have consent to use the image, or post your statement and you never know you could be a winner", explains Emma Slater, ilovesailing coordinator.
Four winners, two photo and two caption will be picked each month and the winners will be announced on the ilovesailing Facebook page. All winners will also receive a copy of the calendar when it is completed.
The calendars will go on sale at the PSP Southampton Boat Show 2013, with the first 50 people to purchase a copy also receiving a 2013 ilovesailing rubber duck.
As well as the new calendar competition the ilovesailing page will continue to run its ever popular weekly caption competition, giving you a chance to share your funny, clever and witty captions in a bid to win an ilovesailing duck.
