Musto Skiffs at Trophee Breizhskiff étape N°1 lac du Der 2012

by Nicolas Duchoud 11 Apr 2012 12:47 BST 6-9 April 2012

The French Skiff Open 2011 was a great event, even if there was no wind on the water. That’s only because the Breizhskiff team made a perfect job around the sailing. Food, drinks, accommodation and ambiance were superb!

The French Skiff Open 2012, same event but with wind :-) and many more boats.

  • Not only one Swiss boat -> 8 Swiss boats; 17 MPS entered in total
  • not 0bf on Friday -> 4-5bf (training)
  • not 0bf on Saturday -> 5-6bf (3 races)
  • not 0bf on Sunday -> 0-5bf (1 race)
  • not 0bf on Monday -> 15-20bf (4 races)
This made this year's event nearly perfect (if we could race on a own racetrack it gets perfect)! The young three sailors Marek, Alex and Fabio did a great job at one of their first musto regattas they participated. Marek Oswald did very well in the first 4 races, Alex Greil capsized as 2nd near the finishing line in the last race and Fabio Muellers motivation coming for the 49er and sailing the Musto was nice to watch.

Also the new dutch guys, the Kuipers brothers. Jelmer who won a race and Roelof who finishes 7th the last race.

Congratulations to Roger Oswald for victory and the lead in the Eurocup. Also for Paul Djikster, always catching me up during the last day!

Can’t wait for the photos, thanks to all the people working for the France Skiff Open and see you in Dongo, sui470.

Musto Skiffs at 63rd Lord Birkett Memorial Trophy
One of those events where you see people you've not seen in years The Birkett has been a long-term favourite with the Musto Skiff fleet, where, given the right conditions, it suits the skiff rather nicely—enough so that we've seen two winners over the years with Ian Turnbull in 2017 and Dylan Noble in 2022.
