Horey's In a Hurry for 1st 505 Win!
Vince Horey along side crew man Christian Diebitsch won the 505 Open Meeting at Northampton Sailing Club in their 1st competive race in the class. Powered by the P&B designed and manufactured 505 sails the winning pair were able to win the three race event with a 5th, 3rd and 1st to secure overall victory. This year Vince will be campaigning in the 505, Fireball and Solo classes where he'll also be using P&B sails. The Standard Fireball ODL06 and the Solo ODL04 being the sails of choice in their respective classes.

Also competing at Northampton and using P&B sails were the P&B / Zhik Race Team duo of Ian Pinnell and Bearnard Gammon who finished in 4th place overall.

Merlin Magic Wins The Silver Tiller!
P&B sails showed their strength at the Merlin Salcombe open meeting. 47 boats competed and P&B sails won all four races. Dave Winder and Pippa Taylor stormed away in race one showing a clean transom to the rest of the fleet. P&B Zhik Race Team’s Tom Stewart and Steve Hall won the next three races using the New P&B D4 continuous path sail. At Salcombe you sail in all conditions and the boys had speed all the way through! The D4 sail (PDF) has fibres aligned to the stresses in the sail meaning that it carries more load for less weight before you see any distortion. The technora fibres are laid between the mylar film layers of the sail which are then laminated together under extremely high pressure rollers. We believe the D4 sails (PDF) contain less heavy glue content than sails made with similar techniques and with the load bearing fibres inside the sail there is no chance of them peeling away! Looks like it’s working well and the longevity looks good.

P&B's Ross Kearney is heading for Ireland on a coaching mission. He arrives in Dublin on Wednesday 11th April and will head to Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club in Belfast on the Thursday 12th - Friday 13th April where he will be coaching Mirrors.
