Yacht entry opens for the 2011 Port of Plymouth Regatta

Entries are now open for the 2011 Port of Plymouth Regatta, the major annual sailing event organised by the Port of Plymouth Sailing Association with major sponsorship by the Cattewater Harbour Commissioners.

The 2011 Regatta Yacht Series for IRC, PY, Sports Boat, Trapper 300, J24, Squib, and Devon Yawl Classes will be an eight race series over the weekend 30/31 July with courses set inside or outside the Breakwater, dependent upon conditions.

Following their successful introduction in 2010, White Sail Races will also be held each day of the weekend.

Separate evening yacht racing will be held on Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd August with champagne prizes for the winners.

Shoreside a full programme of entertainment is being hosted by the Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club, the Royal Western Yacht Club, and the Plym Yacht Club. Free berthing is available for visiting yachts in Sutton Harbour Marina* (*subject to availability).

Other sponsors include Mayflower Marina, Westways, Plymouth Yacht Haven, Mountbatten Watersports and Activities Centre, Sutton Harbour Marina, Ullman Sails.

At the Plymouth Regatta earlier in July For the first time ever, Plymouth Regatta was run from Plymouth Yacht Haven over the 13-15 July.
