Starcross Steamer Pursuit Race - Preview

by John Donovan 16 Feb 2011 06:23 GMT 13 March 2011

The twentieth annual Starcross Steamer Pursuit race for monohull dinghies will be held on Sunday March 13th 2011. The first start for Cadets will not be before 10.00am, with a 150 minute race, high water is at 11.26. The Exe estuary is sheltered and only extreme weather conditions prevent us from sailing. You can be sure of a warm welcome at the club, food and drink will be available all day, so why not bring the family as well.

As the club is in a remote location, the entrance gate is kept locked, however should you wish to drop your boat off at the club the day before the event or even camp over night (bearing in mind that the main London to Plymouth railway line runs by the club), the Vice Commodore Paul Kelley who only lives a few miles from the will be available to let you in. His phone numbers are, mobile 07837 129087 or home 01626 890496. Also please note the entrance to the club is through a low bridge, so vehicles over about 1.55m such as 4x4s and people carriers will have to be parked in the lay-by outside (there is plenty of space).

Entries can be made on the day at the Club, or preferably in advance by post to my home at 60 Saffron Park, Kingsbridge, Devon TQ7 1RL, or by email to Notice of Race, Entry Forms, Race Instructions and Consent Forms are on the Starcross Yacht Club website.
