The front of the fleet

How to get there sooner rather than later!

Are you beginning to get a little frustrated with your sailing– you are improving but oh so slowly – and how long is it going to take until you actually start winning something?

Most club sailors have this experience – they want to get better results but seem to come across an invisible barrier that they can’t cross – or, on the rare occasion that they think they’ve made a breakthrough, the next time they go out it they seem to have forgotten what it was they did that worked.

And that’s even more frustrating!

Sometimes the best way to make a major breakthrough is to do something radically different than keep carrying on what we tend to do – simply turning up for Club racing and a few Open meetings isn’t going to do it, is it?

For many people a completely fresh look at what they are doing in a completely different environment can work wonders – and there’s no better place to put your sailing skills under the microscope than on a beautiful Greek island and in the hands of one of the world’s top sailing coaches.

Wildwind are pleased to announce two intensive sail training weeks at the beginning of their season especially for Laser and catamaran sailors.

Laser Training

Join Skandia Team GBR Head coach, Chris Gowers, for a week of intensive Laser training as well as a load of fun on and off the water. A limited number of sailors can still join Chris at Wildwind Holiday’s excellent location in Vassiliki for the week starting May 1st. You must have at least one season’s club racing under your belt or similar experience.

Prices including flight, accommodation, transfers, use of a brand new Laser and all the sailing and coaching you could possibly want start at only £649. Why not treat yourself? It’s a small price to pay for a suntan and a serious step up the sailing ladder.

Catamaran Racing

Kostas Trigonis, member of ISAF’s Athletes Commission and current Tornado European Champion and 2nd in the World will be leading an intensive catamaran coaching session on the week starting May 8th – once you get Kostas on the boat with you he’ll give you personal pointers that will have you heading to the front of the fleet as well as an in-depth examination of how to make the best out of every leg on the race course. Training will take place on Hobie Tigers, Fox, FX 1, Hobie 16’s and Wildwind’s proud addition to their 2011 fleet – a brand new F18 Wildcat!

Prices, again including flight and accommodation, for this week are from only £689.

Review of Wildwind Holidays by an ILCA sailor
Wildwind have been supporting the UKLA and the Masters series for several years now Wildwind have been supporting the UKLA and the Masters series for several years now, and at each event I have been mildly jealous that someone had won a holiday in Greece while the best I seem to manage is a mid fleet finish and a terrible hangover.
