British sailors have been the top performers at the last three Olympic Games. Heading towards London 2012 an exciting new online community has been launched to encourage supporters to not only get behind this team, but also get up close and personal with them and find out what really makes them tick.

The Skandia Team GBR Support Crew will allow members to gain exclusive behind the scenes access to the world of Skandia Team GBR, find out all the latest news and views, and keep up to date with the movers and shakers from Olympic Team Manager Stephen (Sparky) Park. Each month there will be exclusive competitions, videos and blogs, and the community can get involved through unique interactive polls and website features.

The new website www.skandiateamgbr.com/supportcrew will be launched at the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show at Alexandra Palace, London on Saturday 06 March. Launching the ‘Support Crew’ will be double Olympic gold medallist Sarah Ayton and Mexico games silver medallist Keith Musto. People will be able to sign up at the Support Crew stand, as well as meet a host of Skandia Team GBR Performance Squad team members including Nick Thompson, Penny Clark and Bryony Shaw. There will be autograph signing sessions, and a Support Crew fan page where supporters can leave messages for the team and have their photo taken on the podium with their favourite squad members.

Skandia Team GBR is not just about the sailors, there are a team of experts who work around the clock to make the dream a reality, and the Support Crew will allow an insight into all aspects of this unique team, from the nutritionists and psychologists to the physiotherapists and coaches who work alongside the sailors day in and day out. Read exclusive interviews with past Olympians such as Ian Walker, Rodney Pattison, Adrian Jardine and Charles Currey to find out their views on our prospects for 2012, what their own experience of the Olympics was like, and what they are most looking forward to in 2012.

As part of the Support Crew launch at the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show, anyone who signs up at the show will be in with a chance to win a SunSail holiday for two to Vounaki, Greece. This exclusive prize is a one week holiday for two adults at Sunsail’s Club Vounaki, Greece, which includes Thomson Airways charter economy flights, half board accommodation and free use of Sunsail's sailing equipment (excluding water-skiing). Visit the official stand in the Panorama Hall.

The RYA Volvo Dinghy Show, in association with Yachts & Yachting and Suzuki, is a great day out for all the family, young or old, sailing novice or seasoned pro. To find out more and to order your tickets visit www.dinghyshow.org.uk or call the ticket hotline on 0844 811 0409.
