Tasar Scottish Travellers at Loch Earn Sailing Club

by Colin Tait 4 May 2007 08:22 BST 28-29 April 2007

Loch Earn Sailing Club hosted the first round of the Scottish Tasar Traveller Series over the weekend of the 28th - 29th April. Excellent weather greeted the 11 Tasars; sunshine and a force 2-3 Easterly wind which remained throughout the weekend.

The Pentland Firth Yacht Club have recently established a Tasar fleet and it was great to see 3 boats make the journey down from Thurso, joining visitors from Helensburgh & Prestwick, making this a great start to this year's Scottish Series.

Race officer Craig Moffett set some excellent courses around the clubs fixed marks, changing the course for each of the 4 races, which kept everyone out of their comfort zone and scrambling for pencils and bits of paper!

The fleet enjoyed some close racing and plenty of place changes kept it interesting.

Worth a mention this year was Neil Beveridge and daughter Rachel who are getting quicker with each event. Also Sean Tait with mum crewing (she has the patience of a saint taking orders from a 13 year old!) sailed a great event losing out on 3rd place on a countback.
