The members and Firefly sailors at Chipstead SC look forward to welcoming visiting racers, their families, friends, fans and pit-crews to race with us in our annual Firefly open event.
The Walter Smith trophy has been raced for every year since 1959 at Chipstead!
First thing bacon butties, light lunches, and afternoon tea (complete with our world famous cake) will be available.
This event is round three (of four, ALL to count remember) of the National Firefly Association's Vines Travellers Trophy offering some sensational prizes after the final round at West Oxfordshire SC, 25 October, including a suit of Hyde sails!
Three races are planned, with a competitors' briefing at 10.30 ish.
Chipstead lake, about sixty acres, offers safe comfortable sailing to the newcomer, and serious, thoughtful racing for the more experienced.
Launch from our pontoons - no need to get our feet wet!
All visitors will be very welcome to consider themselves members for the day, to share our excellent facilities, and watch the racing from the clubhouse and terraces.
Find us just off Junction 5 of the M25 from the A21 southbound, near Sevenoaks, Kent, TN13 2SD and follow the signs.
