The event is being run by the Ecole Polytechnique (one of the most prestigious French 'grandes écoles') and is ratified by ISAF. This year the evnet is being sailed in Melges 24's with thirteen teams competing. The fleet was unfortunately depleted to twelve after the Argentinean team broke their mast on day 1.
Racing on both Tuesday and Wednesday this week was cancelled due to strong winds.
Today four races were sailed in winds of 18-20 knots. The long distance race (race 3) this morning was won by Denmark with Ireland (University College Dublin) second and England (Southampton Institute) third. The fourth race was won by Scotland (Strathclyde University) with Ireland second and England third. Races five and six were both won by the British team from Southampton Institute.
After six races the lead is currently shared between England and Scotland with 14.4 points each with Ireland in third on 17.7 points.
The event finishes tomorrow, Friday.
