1998 BRISBANE - HONIARA YACHT RACE


The first night on deck was magnificent with SW up to 15knots and the moon lighting up the deck.


We cross the line at 2347 local time and share congratulations with each other. We have done it under the power of sail, completed 1307 nautical miles in 167¾ hours for an average speed of 7.8 NM per hour.

Tango win Royal Thames YC event in the Solent Saturday was looking like champagne sailing conditions until the hints of a sea breeze swung the wind left and led to postponement while the race committee battled the shifts and relaid the course.
