CAM LEWIS OF TEAM ADVENTURE EXTENDS
CONGRATULATIONS TO CLUB MED FOR WINNING THE RACE

MARSEILLE, FRANCE, March 4, 2001-Cam Lewis, skipper of the American
catamaran Team Adventure has congratulated skipper Grant Dalton and the crew
of the catamaran Club Med for winning The Race of the Millennium.

'Our congratulations go to Club Med,' Lewis said in a message today. 'They
sailed a good race. They lifted the 24-hour sailing record to a new level
and showed us all some great competition. Their time around the world in
just over 62 days is fantastic. Ocean racing has been raised to a new
level.'

Lewis sent his message as his 110-foot catamaran, a sister ship of Club Med,
picked up speed as she sailed in the South Atlantic off the South American
coast about 800 miles northeast of the Falkland Islands. Team Adventure is
in third place, about 5,900 miles from the finish line in Marseilles,
France.

'With news of Club Med's finish, we have just completed what I believe is
our slowest 24 hours,' Lewis said. 'There was not much wind and any we had
was from where we want to go. Now the breeze is filling in and we have some
chance to get a move on. The finish is still a long way north for us, and
our third place position is one we would like to keep, so we push on up the
coast.

'The wind was so light that Randy decided to take the main and solent down
for a quick check and some preventive maintenance, so for a while we were
becalmed with no sails up.'
