CYCA to conduct Sydney - Mooloolaba yacht race

by Phil Thompson on 13 Apr 2000
The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia will now conduct an annual Sydney - Mooloolaba Race in conjunction with Mooloolaba Yacht Club

The Sydney - Mooloolaba Race, which will start on Saturday April 15, is also the final race of the CYCA's annual prestigious Bluewater Pointscore from which the
1999-2000 Bluewater Champion will be announced.

The 469 nautical mile race to Mooloolaba began in 1964 as a feeder race to the important Easter Brisbane to Gladstone Race and over the years has developed into
a popular autumn event, attracting Australia's best yachts and crews. It is the second longest offshore race sailed on the Australian East Coast outside of the CYCA's
most prominent race, the Telstra Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.

During the race Sailing Online will be providing comprehensive coverage including results, mapping and news.
