Retirements reach 17, including hot contender Loco

Retirements from the 2000 Telstra Sydney to Hobart have now reached 17.


After yesterday mornings Brindabella, ShockWave, IceFire, Orsa Maggiore,

Came more withdrawals as Crane Metal, More Witchcraft, She II, Swifty, Galetea and Liberator heading for Eden.

Aspect Computing returned to Sydney with rig damage.

Skipper of Sagacious 5 ,Ian Patterson fell heavily and the boat was forced to retire.Last night he was in Pambula Hospital with suspected spinal injuries.

Southerly retired at 5.10pm.

Radio problems forced Valtair from the race at 6.30pm last night

Loco , was having radio transmission problem as early as the Boxing Day night schedule and last night was out of the race, having been unable to report, as required at the Green Cape 'gate'

Ocean Designs turned back at the gate and Comvergence Telecommunication had comms. problems and has retired also.

Dart 15 Southern Championship at Tankerton
