RS Sailing 2021 - LEADERBOARD

IMS Overall at 3pm Thursday.

by Rob Kothe sail-world.com on 28 Dec 2000
The 1993 Sydney to Hobart winner Ninety Seven is grimly holding onto the Overall 2000 Telstra Sydney to Hobart lead it established 12 hours ago.

Grahame Gibson's pale blue Farr 46 competing in its 8th Hobart is holding out the charging Ausmaid, Starlight Express and Ragamuffin. Shipping Central, the Beneteau 40.7 is losing its early advantage as the race moves into Tasmanian waters.

The superb effort from Ninety Seven is visible in her proximity to her larger competitors. She is only 9 miles behing the 60 footer Eureka, and the long legged Ausmaid and 4 miles behind Ragamuffin.

A storm warning has just been issued for Storm Bay, with 30-40 knot North Easters expected during the wee hours, so anything might happen overnight and placement on the water will clearly decide the Overall Winner.
